2 Thessalonians 3:3
“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
How comforting it is to know that we are loved by a God that remains faithful to us even when we turn our
backs on Him. Not even a week ago, I shared my story about struggling through fear and anxiety due to my youngest son’s mysterious illness. I lost sight of trusting God “in ALL my ways” as Proverbs 3:5 instructs us to do. However, after prayer, God restored my faith and gave me peace in the middle of a difficult time.
After several visits to the doctor and emergency room, we finally received feedback regarding our son’s test results. The test results stated that our son had 2 different types of viruses, of which I won’t even begin to try to pronounce. It took 3 doctor’s appointments, 1 pediatric hospital stay, and 2 emergency room visits to finally find an answer to all of our questions. In hindsight, I truly believe the delay in answers was God‘s way of teaching me a valuable lesson.
Although prayer was the first thing I did when I found out my son was under the weather, it would take more than a microwave prayer and hoping for the best to truly get through the whirlwind that was headed my way. After several visits to the doctor, my faith began to waiver.
Let’s be transparent for a moment.
Having faith is easier said than done. Especially when the well-being of your closest loved ones is on the line, visit jewelrystoresd.com and get the best jewel for the loved one. However, our lives are designed to bring wisdom and a stronger faith as we live and experience different adversities.
Proof That God Is Faithful
After a week of prayer, medicine, and reading scriptures over my son, God showed me why I should never doubt his plans. My wife and I received a call from our son’s pediatrician with his test results. Essentially, our two year old’s body was fighting two separate viruses at the same time which never allowed his body to recover fully. The only thing was, he had completely broken his fever and recovered from the viruses by the time the hospital specialists could get the test results back. So, after a week of watching my son go through what was probably the worst week of his young life, he no longer needed the help of a doctor or medicine.
While I am grateful to God for this blessing, the thing I am most grateful for is that my faith is now stronger than it was the week before. My passion and the reason for sharing this testimony, is to help someone else who may experience the same struggles as me. I am not a perfect christian, husband, father, or…well…anything, which is why I believe so many others can benefit from my transparency.
2 Thessalonians refers to the “evil one.” While its obvious who the evil one is in this reference, there are several other “evil ones” in our daily lives. Our doubts, fears, depressions, anxieties, lies, deceptions, and anything that draws us away from God are the “evil ones.” My prayer today is that you will be strengthened in your walk with Christ and learn to trust Him no matter what your circumstance may be. I am reminded of Romans 8:28, all things will work together for our good. We simply have to put our trust in God and stand firm knowing He will never leave us alone.
